ACTU seeks new deal on worker entitlements

THE ACTU will launch a campaign at its triennial congress next week for the Federal Government and business to embrace a "new deal" on income protection and employee entitlements to blunt the worst effects of the financial crisis. It will be modelled on schemes in Europe in which retrenched workers are paid while they retrain.
